New Staff Member at NFusion

NFusion VII of Winston and Oktibbeha Counties is pleased to announce that Leda Porter is the newest staff member to the NFusion team. Her title is Transitional Advisor - II/Cultural Linguistic Competence Specialist. NFusion, an innovative new project in Winston and Oktibbeha Counties, has been established to meet the needs of unique youth.
It is a system of care initiative that is funded in partnership with the Mississippi Transitional Outreach Project (MTOP). MTOP funds NFusion sites to provide community level system of care services to youth that are 14 - 21 years old. The grant began implementing these services on July of 2010. In Winston County, direct services began for the youth around January 2011.

Leda received her Bachelor's Degree in English from Mississippi Valley State University and her Master's degree in Counseling/Psychology from the University of West Alabama. She has worked in the mental heath field for eight year. During that time she has worked in many capacities with children and youth ages 5-21.

Lakicha Jernigan, program coordinator of NFusion VII, is proud to say that Leda has participated in several trainings relevant to providing services to adolescents and their families. Those included: Wraparound, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mandt, Children and Needs Assessments, Behavior Management Training and Barry Duncan's Outcome Rating Scale (ORS) and Session Rating Scale (SRS).

Leda believes that every goal is attainable. It is her belief that anything is possible with hard work. She strives to encourage young adults to take advantage of every opportunity provided to them to attain their goals.She is excited about the opportunity to work with NFusion. She desires to be an effective team member and provide exceptional services to the youth in Oktibbeha and Winston Counties.
