Groundbreaking for Wesley Church

Church members, clergy and local officials gathered together on Monday, October 14, 2014 to begin a new chapter for the congregation of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Louisville. Groundbreaking ceremonies were conducted for a new church building to replace the existing structure.

Reverend James Morris greeted the gathering which included other local clergy, Louisville Mayor Will Hill and Reverend Embra Jackson, the Superintendent of the Starkville District of the United Methodist Church.

The congregation has been meeting at the Beck Funeral Home and previously at the Red Hills Theater due to the condition of the existing church structure. Morris took the opportunity to thank Robert Beck for the use of the funeral home, and Al Porter for the prior use of the Porter Funeral Home parking area.
