Library Hosts Presentations on Affordable Care Act

Latisha Butler (left) of Health Help Mississippi – Starkville, MS – delivered a presentation on the
Affordable Care Act to a group of about 35 participants at the Winston County Library on Friday, October 18th. Health Help Mississippi is a non-profit organization established in 2010, with five offices throughout Mississippi with a mission of answering questions about senior health care benefits, small business benefits, young adult
benefits and pre-existing condition plans. They offer free health advice and coverage options, including information about the new Affordable Health Care law.

“Ms. Butler was so informative and well-prepared to answer any questions the crowd had,” said Winston County Librarian Beth Edwards (right). “I asked everyone as they left the meeting if the presentation and the question and answer period had been helpful to them, and everyone gave an enthusiastic ‘Yes!’ Ms. Butler will return to the library on Tuesday, November 19th from 12:00 – 1:00pm for a second seminar and again on Tuesday, December 17th from 12:00 – 1:00pm. Friends of the Library will supply a brown-bag lunch to the first 25 participants.
