ECCC Student from Nanih Waiya Featured at Capitol Day Event

East Central Community College sophomore Teylor Martinez of Louisville represented the state’s community college students during the annual Capitol Day event held Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at the State Capitol in Jackson. During her remarks at the mid-morning Press Conference, Martinez expressed appreciation to EC’s ‘caring faculty’ in providing her with a quality education. “I will transfer to a university well-prepared for the next step in my education because the faculty and staff took a personal interest in helping me achieve a degree.” She urged lawmakers to support community and junior college students by providing funding as requested for the 15-college system.
