ECCC Hosts 1,000 Students for Senior Day Event

More than 1,000 area high school seniors attended Senior Day activities held Friday, March 28, 2014, at East Central Community College in Decatur. In the above photo, some of the special campus visitors are shown attending an Information Showcase in the Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Building. The showcase was an opportunity for students to learn more about the college’s academic, career-technical, health-related and athletic programs, clubs and organizations, and other offerings. The college’s Jazz Band, Ac’cents Show Choir and Collegians provided entertainment. This year’s event was highlighted by an inspirational message from former NFL head football coach Tony Dungy. Coach Dungy spoke later that day for a fundraising event at the Neshoba County Coliseum in Philadelphia. Efforts are under way to fund a new Football Operations Center at Bailey Stadium on the Decatur campus. East Central Community College serves Leake, Neshoba, Newton, Scott and Winston counties.
