REPM Briefed on Ms Voter ID

The Winston County Retired Educational Personnel of Mississippi met with Shirley Hall, the Statewide Voter ID

Coordinator with the Secretary of State's Office on Thursday (April 3). Hall briefed the members on the upcoming Voter ID requirements in the State of Mississippi. A photo ID will be required to vote in the June 3 primary election.

The Secretary of State's Office is working to inform the public of the requirements and meeting with civic and other groups as well as providing information to churches across the state. Hall said, "Once we get through the process and see how easy it is, I don't think there will be any issues." Hall indicated that a number of other states across the country have implemented voter ID requirements.
