Memorial Service on Sunday for Tornado Victims

There will be a memorial service on Sunday, May 11 recognizing the victims of the April 28 tornado. Governor Phil Bryant is expected to attend as our community recovers from this tragic natural disaster.

The service is to be held at 4:30 pm at the Louisville High School football field as the weather permits. The school auditorium is available in the case of rain. The event will be opened by State Representative Michael Ted Evans with prayers provided by Reverend Haynes, Reverend James Young and Reverend Ben Pittman. The JROTC will present the colors, the National Anthem will be sung by Tracy McCully and Taps will be played by Rick Nance.

State Senator Giles Ward will make the introductions to include Mayor Will Hill, U.S. Congressman Gregg Harper and Governor Bryant.

The reading of the names of the victims by Reverend Mason Joy will include a ritual ringing of a bell and a family member placing a rose.

Ten Winston County/Louisville citizens lost their lives in the April tornado that swept through the area
