Red Cross on the Ground in Winston County

Over 200 trained Red Cross disaster workers are on the ground in hard-hit areas providing relief and comfort to affected communities across Mississippi.

Since the start of the disaster relief operation, the Red Cross has delivered thousands of meals and snacks with many community partners and faith-based groups like the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Organization.

Three shelters remain open today -- at the First Baptist Church in Louisville, the Mount Elam Missionary Baptist Church in Pearl and at the Bancorp South Center in Tupelo. While these locations, serve as a safe place to stay for many affected families and individuals, countless more receive a warm meal and comfort from Red Cross volunteers.

The Red Cross has three emergency aid stations open, providing health services, mental health resources and vital information.

o Crosspoint Baptist Church, 129 North Eason, Tupelo, MS

o Auburn Baptist Church, 1138 County Road 931, Tupelo, MS

o Near the Walmart parking lot, 159 Mississippi Street, Louisville, MS

In the coming days, the Red Cross will continue to work with local and state officials and community partners to address the needs of the people of Mississippi and to assist each family with creating a personalized recovery plan.
