Winston Plywood and Veneer Donates to Winston Strong

Winston Plywood and Veneer (WPV) is at home in Louisville.
After a quiet merger with Natron Wood Products in March of this year, WPV was almost set to begin hiring for plywood production when the April 28th tornado destroyed the facility on South Church Avenue.

Without hesitation, WPV and its parent companies, - New Wood Resources and Atlas Holdings, LLC made a commitment to rebuild and become a part of the Winston County community.

Part of that commitment includes a major donation to the Winston County Relief Fund (Winston Strong). New Wood Resources CEO Kurt Liebich presented a check for $72,789.36  to the Community Based Recovery Committee on Thursday. These funds were raised from associates of Atlas Holdings.

Dr. Dick Baldwin with WPV rushed back to Louisville from Costa Rica immediately after the tornado struck our area and offered assistance. Upon noting the effective efforts of the community to recover, Baldwin never questioned the decision to rebuild in Louisville.

Winston Plywood and Veneer is currently operating out of the property at 826 S. Church (same building as FEMA). Debris removal from the mill site has begun and Baldwin indicates that the process is ahead of schedule. Plans are to build a state of the art wood product facility with employment for up to 400 people.
