The Pilot Club of Louisville has received word from the North Pole
that a special visitor will be making an extra trip to Winston County this year on July 31st. This historical event will be the first ever summer visit to our area for a well-known world traveler who usually only ventures on lengthy journeys during the long winter months.

A Christmas in July Party will be held at the Shriners’ Club from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M on Thursday, July 31st for children affected by the recent storm. Due to the fact so many children lost their toys the elves have been working extra hard to pack school supplies and gift cards for the young children who were in the tornado’s path on April 28th. Hopefully, the gift cards can be used to replace a few of the children’s lost treasures.

Invitations are being mailed to residents with elementary age children and/or younger. Any child who lived in the storm’s path who will be entering 5th grade this year or younger is welcome to attend. A list has been compiled from various sources, but the Pilot Club of Louisville doesn’t want to leave any one off the bearded man’s list. If you know of families who have small children please contact one of the following Pilots to make sure all are included in the festivities: Beverly Wilkes at 662-803-1103, Kathy Sinclair at 662-803-4314, or Darlene Bane at 662-803-8222.

Area Pilots and members of the Winston County Anchor Club will be serving milk and cookies at the affair on Thursday night, July 31st, at The Shriners’ Club which is located on Highway 15 South. Several local and state donors along with the Japan District of Pilot International have shared generous gifts to help fund this fun-filled event. Please get the names of all the children to the Pilots so every child in the tornado’s path will be able to attend.

The Pilot Club of Louisville is part of Pilot International, a global service organization with a focus on brain-related diseases and disorders. Founded in 1921 in Macon, Georgia the Pilot Club has been active in our community since 1946.
