Woodmen of the World Plants Trees at Dean Park Oct 28

On Tuesday, October 28, 2014, 4:00 p.m., the local Modern Woodmen of America Youth Service Club will plant trees in Dean Park, 3350 HWY 15 South, Louisville, MS. This will be the 6 Month Recovery Celebration. On April 28, 2014, Winston County was devastated by an EF 4 tornado during which Dean Park lost most of its beautiful pine trees of which some were 100 feet tall and 100 years old. These youth will plant trees in celebration of the 6 Months.

The goals of the Modern Woodmen of America Youth Service Club are to beautify the community and to help the environment by “digging in” and planting trees at every opportunity. This will be a great opportunity for the community to join in this celebration and further help Dean Park with its recovery efforts. Miss Ruth’s Babies’ Concession Stand will be opened for refreshments. This concession stand is a memorial mural for Ruth Eichelberger Bennett, daycare owner, who died during this tornado while clutching 4 year old Ashtyn Mitchell who recently celebrated her 5th birthday.

Please join your local Modern Woodmen of America Youth Service Club at Dean Park and have fun by planting trees on October 28, 2014, 4:00 p.m.
