Presley Announces $25,000 Fine for No Call Violations

JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI (January 13, 2015) – Following today’s
monthly open meeting of the Public Service Commission, Northern District Commissioner Brandon Presley announced that the PSC has imposed civil penalties totaling $25,000 against Active Periodicals, Inc. for five violations of the state’s No-Call law.
In the Commission Complaint, the company was accused of making unauthorized telephone solicitations and failing to register with the PSC as a telephone solicitor. After proceedings on the matter, it was determined that the Commission was entitled to judgment as a matter of law, and summary judgment in the Commission’s favor was granted.
