Winston County Weather Update - 11:00 am Wednesday

Light rain is spread throughout much of Winston County as
temperatures remain at or near the freezing mark this morning. Icing has occurred on elevated structures in much of our area. Roadways remain basically clear of ice but expect that to change as temperatures will drop later today.

The National Weather Service is still projecting snow - heavy at times, later today. Originally projected for mid- late morning, snow is now expected sometime after noon today. Projections are broad but still indicate 2-4 inches in general.

As temperatures drop below freezing and as ground temps fall, icing will become more of a problem for the traveler. Many governmental offices and most schools in the area have closed for the day. Travel this afternoon and evening is discouraged.
