NFusion Thanks Winston County

May was Mental Health Awareness Month which was very successful! NFusion sponsored several events to help make people aware of mental health!

Burnt Orange Productions, owned and operated by Jason Stewart, was the MC for our talent show. The talent show was called ‘NFused With Talent’ which consisted of 10 acts with youth from Starkville and Louisville. The 1st prize went to Dominique Triplett, 2nd prize went to Cherish Triplett (no relation), and 3rd prize went to TDD Dance Troupe of Starkville.

NFusion also recognized and provided breakfast to show our appreciation to our stakeholders during the Mental Health Awareness month on May 6th, 2015.

With the help of our outstanding community and awesome staff, NFusion has made Mental Health Awareness Month a success. Mayor Will Hill signed a proclamation recognizing May as Mental Health Awareness Month! Our Awareness Day event was a community event that consisted of the following: 1) with our local Poppa Clown, Elder Richard Moncrief. 2) A balloon release. 3) The simulation trailer was on site to give one an idea as to what it would be like to have Alzheimer. 4) A bounce house for the kids! 5) Information about mental health awareness was provided to the youth and family.

NFusion also started a community conversation about mental health with members of the Winston county community. Sandra Jackson, Larry Veazey, Elmetra Patterson, Jean Harper, Nona Armstrong, NFusion program coordinator, Lakicha Jernigan, family involvement specialist, Carnette Hudson and state CLC coordinator Albertstein Johnson-Pickett. This conversation will culminate with a community event August/September 2015 (TBA).
