Winston Co. Library Provides a Summer of Fun for Area Youth

The Winston County Library's Summer Learning Program was a big success with the largest youth participation in several years. More than 300 area kids took part in the range of programs for pre-schoolers to teenagers.

The "Little Heroes" program for 3-5 year olds had 74 participants, the "Every Hero Has a Story" program for 1st to 5th graders had 191 children and 43 teenagers took part in the "Unmask" reading program.

Across all the activities, local youths checked out an astounding 5097 books during the summer to date.

The activities ended on Tuesday (June 30) with awards ceremonies and a "Water Fun Day" as the kids had the opportunity to be sprayed with fire hoses by the Louisville Fire Department.  Click on the photo below to see a host of images from the library events.
