In an effort to “Pay it Forward”, folks in Winston County
are preparing to assist victims of the Holly Springs tornado that occurred right
before Christmas. The storm caused
significant property damage and resulted in the loss of life – something that is
all too familiar to the residents of Louisville and Winston County.
The storms across north Mississippi on Wednesday, December
23 damaged or destroyed more than 400 homes and took at least eight lives and
injured dozens.
After the devastating tornado that touched so many lives in
Winston County on April 28, 2014, local residents know firsthand the needs of
storm victims and have put together an effort to collect needed items to
deliver to the Holly Springs area.
Those who wish to donate may bring items to the Louisville
Fire Station on Spring Street (304 S. Spring) beginning on Thursday, December
31. The collection deadline is January 6, 2016 at which time all donated items
will be delivered.
Organizers ask that you please include only the following
items in your donations. Old furniture
and items of clothing are not needed at this time:
BOTTLED WATER
GALLON WATER
