Storms Expected Tuesday Afternoon and Evening in Our Area

The National Weather Service continues to project the potential for severe weather across much of Mississippi on Tuesday. Central Mississippi including Winston County and surrounding areas are considered to be areas of severe risk for damaging winds, hail and possible tornadoes.

Storms are expected to develop around noon along the Mississippi River and move east throughout the afternoon. Rainfall in our area could begin as early as noon with amounts from 1/2" to 1". The severe weather is projected for Winston County as early as 2-3:00 pm  and extending into the evening hours.

Residents should also be aware that Ackerman weather radio continues to have problems and may not broadcast during periods of high wind. Please make arrangements to follow all other sources of weather information as needed. If you have not already signed up for CodeRed weather alerts on your phone or by email, now is an excellent time to do so. Click here to sign up.

WinstonWebNews will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates throughout the day tomorrow as they become available.
