Crochet Display at Library

The Winston County Library is proud to have on display throughout the month of March, a bedspread crocheted by Mrs. Pearl Robertson, from the Claytown area of Winston County. Mrs. Robertson, 92 years-old, completed the bedspread this past year. It was one of four she did in the last two years. “She told me that she began crocheting the year she married her husband, Willie Robertson, in 1941,” said librarian Beth Edwards. “She had to work by coal-oil lamp or firelight, and she would work on her projects until midnight.” Mrs. Edwards encourages everyone to come by the library and see this beautiful piece of hand work.
