The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch in effect for almost all counties in central Mississippi including Winston, Noxubee, Choctaw, Kemper, Leake, Attala and Oktibbeha til 10:00 pm this evening. Per NWS:

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WIND GUSTS, LARGE HAIL, AND TORNADOES ARE EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. SOME OF THESE STORMS COULD PRODUCE HAIL TO THE SIZE OF BASEBALLS, AND STRONG TORNADOES ARE POSSIBLE. IN ADDITION...ONE TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN ARE EXPECTED WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE ON TOP OF RAIN THAT OCCURRED LAST NIGHT INTO THIS MORNING. THIS COULD RESULT IN FLASH FLOODING.
