Winston County Library Reports To City And County

Winston County Librarian, Beth Edwards reports on library usage on a regular basis to City and County officials. The following information is from December 2015 thru February 2016

· ATTENDANCE IN LIBRARY: 13,610 or 4,537/mo.
· PROGRAMS AT LIBRARY: 15meetings with 282 attending
· SCHOOL VISITS: 8 visits; with 895 attending
· PUBLIC ACCESS COMPUTERS: 2,408 users for a total of 1,631 hours (for an average of 803 users per month – 544 hours per month
· DIAL-A-STORY: 526 callers for an average of 175 per month.
· HOME BOOK DELIVERY: 28

ACTIVITIES:
· Book signing with Clinton, MS watercolorist Wyatt Waters and    Marshall Ramsey, editorial cartoonist for the Clarion Ledger.
· Story times twice a month for young children
· Junior Auxiliary Angel Tree – over 75 children “adopted”.
· Health Help Mississippi and Affordable Care Act Seminars  December and January to help people shop for health insurance and enroll.
· Tiffany Moore book signing for her new book Beauty In The  Struggle.
· Grant Writing workshop sponsored by the Mississippi Arts  Commission.
· Friends of the Library Membership Drive – over $2,000 raised  this year. Raising money for a new color copier ($9,000)
· Valentine’s Programs and Black History Month Programs conducted at area schools (Headstart, Nanih Waiya, Noxapater, Fair Elementary, Louisville Elementary, Grace Christian School, Winston Academy).
· Book signing with Dr. Dick Baldwin, President of Winston Plywood and Veneer
· Book signing with Rev. Louis Black Hathorn for his new book Southern Justice and Christianity.
· Book signing for Brother Jimmy Mangrum for his new book Miracles of Faith.
· Dr. Seuss Birthday party March 1 for area pre-schoolers.
· Presentation to Fair Elementary School special ed. Students , teachers and Parents on resources available the Winston County Library.
