Thursday’s NJCAA Region 23 Baseball Tournament Games at ECCC Moved Due To Weather

The opening day games of the 2016 National Junior College Athletic Association Region 23 Baseball Tournament on Thursday, May 19, at East Central Community College have been moved up to Noon and 4 p.m. due to an increased chance of rain Thursday evening.The tournament is being played at the Clark/Gay Baseball Complex on the ECCC campus in Decatur.

With the change, No. 2 seeded LSU-Eunice and No. 3 seeded Jones County Junior College will play at Noon on Thursday, May 19, and No. 1 East Central and No. 4 Northwest Mississippi Community College will play at 4 p.m.


Depending on the completion time of the first game Thursday and the weather forecast, the second game between ECCC and Northwest could begin earlier than 4 p.m., or one hour after the completion of game one.

Additional rain is forecast for Friday, May 20. However, at this time there are no changes to the Friday schedule. Any decision to alter the Friday schedule will be made early Friday morning, May 20.

Admission to the tournament is $8 per day. Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) passes will be honored.

Game 3: Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2, 2 p.m.

Game 4: Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2, 6 p.m.

Saturday, May 21

Game 5: Winner Game 3 vs. Loser Game 4, 2 p.m.

Game 6: Winner Game 4 vs. Winner Game 5, 6 p.m.

Sunday, May 22

Game 7: If necessary, 3 p.m.
