Shots Fired- Suspect in Custody From Early Morning Theft

The Winston County Sheriff's Department responded to a call on
Hwy 25 N near the Oktibbeha County line at around 5:45 am this morning (Friday- June 3). According to reports, a property owner exited his home around 5:30 am and saw a vehicle parked near an abandoned home also on his property. The owner confronted a single male who was removing items from the house. The man attempted to escape in his vehicle but the property owner disabled the truck by shooting out two tires.

The suspect attempted to drive the truck but abandoned the vehicle a short distance away on Keaton Tower Road near the county line and escaped into the woods. Sheriff's officers from Winston and Oktibbeha Counties were involved in the search and the suspect turned himself in to authorities at around 11:00 am this morning.

Christopher Foreman, age 31 of Columbus is in custody at the Winston Choctaw County Regional Correctional Facility where charges are pending.
