Winners Of Garden Tour Prizes

On Saturday, June 4, 2016, the 2nd Annual Winston County Master Gardeners Tour was very successful even on a day that the temperature was 95 degrees. The tour hosts had plenty of water and some refreshments available. The tours were featured on both WTVA and WCBI.

There were 65 to 95 tourists at each of the four (4) gardens. Over 50 door prizes were given to tourists. The Winston County Master Gardeners Association expressed gratitude to the hostesses, Carolyn Hampton, Carolyn Hisaw, Brenda Jowers and the Cultivating Garden volunteer Alexander Cunningham for participating in the 2016 Garden Tour.

It is the purpose of the WCMGA: 1) to assist the Extension Service of Mississippi State University accomplish its mission by providing easily accessible information about residential horticultural practices through educational presentations and use of the media; and 2) to provide a volunteer organization that completes community service projects which further the community’s understanding of and appreciation for the joy of gardening. All gardens are located in Louisville, Mississippi.
