Presley Urges Phone Companies to Offer Robocall Blocking Technology

Northern District Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley is calling on phone companies to offer blocking services for robocalls. Earlier this week, AT&T committed to offering blocking services at the request of Federal Communications Chairman Tom Wheeler.

This technology will be available to customers and give them control over the calls and texts they receive. Other major phone companies have 60 days to develop a similar plan that allows consumers to block robocalls and text on their phones.

“These robocalls are strictly an invasion of privacy and must be stopped. I am proud to join FCC Chairman Wheeler in his mission of developing robocall-blocking technology. I urge all phone companies to be proactive and develop a plan to join AT&T’s efforts” said Commissioner Presley. For more information visit or to register your cell phone on the Do Not Call list visit or call 1-800-356-6428.
