Winston County Republican Women Donate to Library

The Winston County Republican Women recently gave a donation to the Winston County Library for the purchase of two books. The gift is in honor of two of its long-serving members, JoAnn Brandt and Sylvia Clark, for their work within the Republican Women’s club and also for over thirty years of service to the Friends of the Library. Librarian Beth Edwards was given a list of 46 books to choose from. “The list is from the Mamie Eisenhower Library Project for 2016-2017,” said Edwards. “It was very difficult to choose, but I chose two books that represented very strong women – Extraordinary, Ordinary People: A Memoir of Family by Condoleezza Rice and Margaret Thatcher on Leadership: Lessons for American Conservatives Today by Nile Gardiner. Neither of these books is in our collection, and I am very pleased to now be able to add them.”
