Build A Better World Summer Reading Program Awards Day

The Winston County Library’s Summer Reading Program (Build A Better World) – 1st – 5th graders Awards Day was held June 27th. Mid-Mississippi Regional Library System Youth Services Coordinator Lindsay Fitts instructed the participants how to “shop” for prizes based on how many tokens they had accumulated by reading.

Grand Prize Winner (a $50 Walmart Gift Card) – Markaila Metts, 1st grader at Nanih Waiya

After prizes were given out, the kids went outside where they enjoyed the Louisville Fire Department spraying them with water.

They also enjoyed face painting by Library Volunteers Elesha Geeter, Bracina Glenn, Ciajah Undrea, Eric Humphries and Adrienne Forsythe and also Library staff member Denise Dickerson.

Head Librarian Beth Edwards and Staff sent out a heartfelt Thank You to the following for sponsoring one or more of the reading programs this summer.
