Walker Family Donates Memorial Benches to Dean Park

The Friends of Dean Park, Inc. members placed 3 garden benches in Dean Park that were donated by Curtis and Christine Walker’s descendants. The benches’ plaques read:

1) In memory of Curtis and Christine Jackson-Walker. Curtis was born December 10, 1908 and passed on July 28, 1971. Christine was born March 14, 1916 and passed April 5, 2010. They were the loving parents of: Tevell, Nettie, Curtis L., Roy de, Nannie, Wayne, Evelyn, Hosea, Jerome and Loretta Walker.

2) In memory of Hosea Walker who was born December 30, 1951 and passed on April 5, 2006. He graduated from Louisville High School in 1969. He was the loving brother of: Tevell, Nettie, Curtis L., Roy de, Nannie, Wayne, Evelyn, Jerome and Loretta Walker.

3) In memory of Roy de ‘Rollie’ Walker who was born April 30, 1945 and passed December 25, 2014. He graduated from Louisville High School in 1962. He was the loving brother of: Tevell, Nettie, Curtis L., Nannie, Wayne, Evelyn, Hosea, Jerome and Loretta Walker.

Nettie Walker-Jackson and Elmetra Eichelberger-Patterson coordinated this project for the family. Nettie donated 72 begonia plants to Dean Park. They were transplanted by the trainees from National Caucus and Center on Black Aged, Inc. (NCBA) Black. The trainees were Willie Matthews, Florence and Mark Collins. Richard Moncrief, president of the Friends of Dean Park, Inc. expressed to Jerome Walker, the only Walker family present, his gratitude to the Walker Family for the donations.
