Local Pilot Club Members Attend District Convention

Members of the Pilot Club of Louisville joined more than 100 Pilot members from
Mississippi at the MS District, Pilot International 30th Annual Convention held at the Bancorpsouth Conference Center in Tupelo on April 13 and 14, 2018. Governor Gail Adams, Pilot Club of Fulton, presided during the weekend. Those attending from the Pilot Club of Louisville were: Beverly Wilkes, Heather Thompson, Brandi Krajewski, Toni Jackson, Gail Massey, Kristin Knox, Babs Fulton, Tracey Jackson, Tara Woodward, Kathy Sinclair, Beth Haggard, and Connie Faye Estes.

Theme for the weekend was “Adventurers - Explore the Possibility”. Attendees took part in informative workshops, officer training sessions, election of district officers, and conducting district business. Merrily Burns, Pilot International Executive Director for the 2017-18 year from Honolulu, Hawaii, attended as the Executive Committee Representative for the MS District. 

A special fundraiser was held on Friday night for the Pilot International Foundation Fund. Monies raised will go toward scholarships and grants. Lee Ann Houp and her son, Brodey Houpt were the keynote speakers at the Awards Banquet on Saturday. The Pilot Clubs of Louisville and Starkville served as hostesses for the successful weekend.

The 2018-19 Newly Elected District officers are: Governor Miriam Garner, Houston, Governor Elect; Allyson Lietner, New Albany; Lt. Governor Michelle Estes, West Point; Secretary, Barb Atkins, Starkville; and Treasurer Carolyn Holbrook, Holly Springs. They will serve from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019..
