News Briefs


  • The City of Louisville and Louisville Utilities are applying for a $600,000 CDBG grant for repair and update of the sewer system in the Hill Crest Drive area. It will be late summer or early fall before it will be known if funds will be available.



  • The City of Louisville has purchased several new vehicles recently and three older LPD patrol cars will be advertised for sale. 



  • Giles Ward has been appointed to complete the term of Scott Hendrix on the City's Planning and Zoning Board.



  • The Red Hills Festival is approaching fast. The event will be held in downtown Louisville on Saturday, May 26. Vendor and sponsor information can be found on the partnership's website at http://winstoncountyms.com



  • The Winston County Sheriff's Office has recently worked with the Louisville Municipal School
    District in a review of school facilities for law enforcement purposes. Sheriff Jason Pugh recently met with the LMSD Board to discuss law enforcement's role in keeping students safe and developing an understanding of each school's layout and policies in case of an emergency situation.



  • Final bid opening and approval of bids for the demolition of the old annex building located behind the Winston County Courthouse will take place on Thursday, May 3rd at 2:00 pm.
