Winston County Library Celebrated National Library Week in April

The Winston County Library celebrated National Library Week (April 9-14) all through the month of April.

Poplarville, MS author Shelby Harris presented a program called “Forbidden, Hidden and Forgotten: Women Soldiers of the Civil War” and brought along many items used in re-enactments of Civil War battles.
Assistant Librarian Venita Hollingsworth held a Bingo program for children and adults in the library meeting room. Many local businesses contributed great prizes for the event.

An on-line couponing class was held by LaTrell Stokes, Mississippi Extension Office 4-H agent from Oktibbeha County.

Local Master Gardener Rebecca Gravette presented a program on Air Plants and everyone went home with their own air plant.

Finally, Dr. Jeffrey W. Harris of MSU spoke about honey bees and their importance and beekeeping.
