A Breast Cancer Awareness program was held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Co-Med Health Care Services, 317 North Court Avenue, Louisville, MS, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Rev. Lorene Guyse, breast cancer survivor who had three occurrences, was the guest speaker. Rev. Guyse had lunch with and spoke with approximately 30 people about her experiences as a survivor. Rev. Guyse is the pastor of Holy Ghost Temple and administrator of Doors of Hope. She was inspirational and encouraging, “Go to the doctor. Everything could be OK but make sure you get exams yearly and get those mammograms. I have been stricken with cancer 3 times and I’m still here. I focus on what I am going to do each day and forgiving others is a priority. There is no blessing in unforgiving. We must create in us a clean heart.” She also stated that wherever you find yourself be grateful - whether you are a survivor or still battling cancer.
