Runnin n Strummin at Legion Park - Tomorrow!!!

It is almost here. The 2nd Annual Legion State Park  ‘Runnin n Strummin” Music Festival  is on tap for tomorrow, Saturday, Sept 28. Organizers want to provide as much useful info as possible to make your visit a great experience:

  • This is an all day event with music and programs from 8:30 am til approximately 8:30 pm.
  • All attendees will receive a wristband which will allow you to come and go as needed throughout the day.
  • Opening ceremonies began at 8:00 am and gates should be open prior to that time.
  • Admission at the gate is $15 per adult – pre-purchased tickets are $10. 
  • Children under age 15 receive free entry.
  • A schedule of events is available on the website at and you will also receive a schedule when you enter the park.
  • There are two venues – Lodge and “In The Pines” and shuttle service is available between them.
  • There will be plenty of restroom facilities and food vendors on hand.
  • There will be craft demonstrations onsite as well as some merchandise sales.
  • Seating will be available but we encourage you to bring your lawn chairs or a blanket for your comfort.
  • Please, out of respect for others – no pets and no smoking.
  • Alcohol is prohibited on the grounds of Legion State Park.
  • There will be programs for the kids beginning at 9:00 am at the Pavilion below the Lodge. On site parking will be available.
  • Due to pedestrians, when driving in the park- please limit your speed to 10 mph or less.

It looks like the weather will be great and seating  “In The Pines” is in a shaded area. Come on out and enjoy the day. Hear some great music, visit old friends and support one of the great assets of Winston County – Legion State Park. See Ya’ there!!!!

Festival. As part of our sponsorship, we will be providing info on performers and events leading up to this weekend's Festival. The Festival is an all day event but once tickets are purchased, the public is welcome to come and go as needed. There will be food vendors on hand, craft demonstrations and kids programs. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the gate. Kids under 15 are free and encouraged to participate in our morning programs. Advance tickets are available at our offices at 875 S. Columbus and at Winston Furniture Company on Main Street in Louisville.
