Dr. David Nolen Speaks to Nanih Waiya DAR

Dr. David Nolen, Associate Reference Librarian at the Ulysses S. Grant Library at MSU, was the guest speaker for the October meeting of the Nanih Waiya DAR. Dr. Nolen spoke about how MSU was able to acquire the library, and what can be expected when you visit the library.

While visiting the library visitors can see selections of Grant’s papers, and photographs from wartime and his two presidential terms. There are four life-size statues of Grant, a desk from an Illinois courthouse where Lincoln practiced law, and a book picturing Grant’s 7-mile funeral procession. Electronic exhibits help bring Grant’s history alive.
