Friends of Dean Park Asking for Volunteers for Fall Beautification Day at Dean Park

Fall Beautification Day will be held at Dean Park, HWY 15 South, on Friday, October 19, 2019, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Friends of Dean Park, Inc. (FODP) will supply snacks and drinks. FODP would like to invite the following groups: 4-H Club, the Modern Woodmen of America Youth Service Club, Boys and Girls Scouts, church youth groups, Winston County Master Gardeners Association, garden clubs, Black Girls Read, the Wildcats and other students or adults to participate.  Volunteers can help plant, rake leaves and pine cones, weed, prune, fertilize and spruce up the park. Community Service hours are available for students’ scholarships and college applications and for master gardeners’ recertification. Membership to Friends of Dean Park, Inc. is open to adults for $15/yearly and $5/yearly for students. Membership is not required for participation as a volunteer. 

There will be a 30 minute presentation of Container Gardening by several master gardeners for those that are interested.
