Yesterday, the Winston County
Board of Supervisors declared a state of emergency as a precaution and to speed
the process of state and federal assistance if needed. The Louisville Board of Aldermen will meet
tonight (Tuesday) and are expected to address the pandemic as well.
As the situation progresses,
continue to follow local media for updates and closings. In addition, for more specific information,
the public should visit the following local websites:
Here are some basic commonsense guidelines that we all need
to follow:
- Wash your hands thoroughly on a regular basis, especially if you deal with the public throughout the day. Practice good hygiene.
- Limit any travel, shopping or social gatherings
- Avoid large gatherings of people. If you must gather for work, etc. limit group size to less than 10.
- If you are older or have health issues – stay home and avoid contact with others as much as possible.
- If you are ill, stay home.
- If you are ill and feel that you need medical care, call your doctor and get instructions. Do not visit the emergency room or the hospital without making arrangements first. Winston Medical has more info here: https://www.winstonmedical.org/a-message-from-winston-medical-clinic/
