Local COVID-19 Update

The last report from Mississippi Department of Health indicates 207 cases of COVID across the state with only one death. The heaviest concentration of cases are in the most populated counties, (Harrison, Hinds, DeSoto). As of this morning, there were three confirmed cases in Winston County. Two cases were reported in Oktibbeha County. There is one case each in Attala and Leake Counties.

If you are ill, contact your health care provider by phone. Do not go directly to the clinic or hospital emergency room. Our medical professionals have procedures in place to deal with every circumstance. They can provide instructions on exactly what to do and where to go.

Testing resources across the state are limited. Tests will be administered at the discretion of your medical professionals so do not expect to be tested for COVID-19 if you are not displaying symptoms consistent with the virus or your symptoms are slight.

Currently there is no curfew in Louisville or Winston County but the public should use discretion. Many retailers are curtailing hours and placing some restrictions on purchases and interaction.

We will have a comprehensive list of  “do’s and don’ts” available on our website later today.
